# A growing call for accountability in the boardroom

PwC (Jan 28, 2026) "A growing call for accountability in the boardroom" reports a step-change in director willingness to confront underperformance: 55% of directors say at least one board colleague should be replaced — up six percentage points year-on-year and the highest level in the survey's history. 88% of directors say they can take at least one action to improve their board's effectiveness, including being more willing to speak up during discussions.
