# AI Act | Shaping Europe's Digital Future

From 2 August 2026, the EU AI Office and member-state authorities assumed responsibility for implementing, supervising, and enforcing the AI Act, alongside new disclosure obligations requiring humans to be informed when interacting with AI systems. For boards, this creates a live governance and accountability requirement around documentation, human oversight, and risk classification.
