# The Expanding Agenda for Boards of Directors

Boston Consulting Group (2024) "The Expanding Agenda for Boards of Directors", drawing on a global survey of 444 directors and CEOs — including 112 from emerging markets — alongside regional roundtables, finds boards are grappling with a tightly interconnected set of issues: climate and sustainability imperatives, generative AI, and geopolitical disruption. The piece concludes that in continuous-transformation environments business-as-usual oversight is no longer sufficient: boards must engage with management more frequently and more proactively.
