Frequently asked questions
Direct answers to what mid-market CEOs and founders ask before engaging.

A Board Operating System (BOS) is the cadence, forums, preparation rituals, decision rights, and follow-through mechanisms by which the board and leadership team govern the organization. It is everything around the board pack — not the board pack itself. When it's solid, decisions are fast and defendable. When it's broken, board packs get thicker and decisions get weaker.

BOS is the operating system — the cadence, decision rights, and follow-through that fix the structural plumbing of the board cycle. It is the system. PARRY is an AI-enabled decision rehearsal product that pressure-tests individual high-stakes decisions before they reach the boardroom. BOS fixes the system. PARRY pressure-tests the decisions that flow through it. The two are complementary. Most clients start with BOS; some scale-ups start with PARRY.

The standard mandate is 180 calendar days. One day per week of senior fractional time, embedded with the CEO and leadership team. Day 30: stabilize the cycle. Day 90: digitize the system. Day 180: full handover. From Day 181, your team operates the system without us. Zero ongoing consulting dependency. Shorter engagements are possible when the diagnostic identifies a narrower scope.

Fractional means embedded senior expertise, time-boxed and outcome-focused — not a full-time C-level hire, not a consulting army, not an open-ended retainer. One day per week of CEO-level cadence for six months. Roughly 15-20% the cost of a full-time C-level executive, with explicit methodology transfer rather than open-ended dependency. The structure forces clarity at Day 0: what gets fixed, by when, with what handover. Full-time consulting incentivizes scope creep. Fractional engagements have a clear endpoint by design.

Mid-market companies and scale-ups, typically between $10M and $500M in annual revenue, where the CEO sits on the board or reports directly to it. Industry-agnostic — the BOS pattern is structural and shows up the same way in industrials, retail, financial services, technology, professional services. Geography focus: Southeast Asia and the Gulf, with selective work in Europe and North America. Not a fit for: pre-revenue startups, very large enterprises with mature governance functions, or organizations seeking pure consulting deliverables without methodology transfer.

Engagements are priced as a fixed monthly retainer for the duration of the mandate, billed under the Hong Kong entity. Pricing depends on company complexity and scope but typically falls in a band that's 15-20% of a comparable full-time C-level salary in the same market. Specific numbers are discussed in the discovery call once the diagnostic identifies actual scope. Local invoicing arrangements are available where required for tax or regulatory reasons.
-
Engagements are governed by mutual NDA from the discovery call onwards. Client material — board packs, financials, decisions, identifiable information — is never shared with third parties, never used in case studies without explicit written consent, and never used to train AI systems. We do not publish client names, logos, or testimonials without written approval. References from past mandates are available on request.

Two paths. The 5-minute BOS diagnostic is the fastest way to test whether the methodology applies to your situation — it scores your board cycle across preparation, decision quality, and follow-through, and surfaces specific weaknesses. Or if you'd rather just talk: book a 60-minute discovery call directly. Both are free and no obligation. Most clients run the diagnostic first; some skip straight to the call. Either works.
Still have questions? The fastest way to find out is to run the diagnostic.
