As Board AI Use Rises, Rules and Oversight Remain Scarce

A Corporate Board Member and Diligent Institute survey found 82% of directors used generative AI in board work in the past six months, up from 66%, yet 54% say their company has no guidance for directors' AI use and only 6% have a formal board-specific policy. The findings expose a widening gap between adoption and governance that carries legal and operational risk.
