C-suite insights for board effectiveness: A survey of the C-suite
PwC and The Conference Board fifth annual "Board Effectiveness: A Survey of the C-Suite" (Oct 1, 2024) draws on responses from more than 500 C-suite executives in fall 2024. Headline data: 35% of executives rate their boards as excellent or good — an encouraging rise from recent years; 93% indicate at least one director should be replaced, the highest level recorded; 78% want two or more directors replaced. Executive priorities (talent, supply chain, AI) diverge from director focus (strategic disruption, financial performance, data privacy). 42% (up from 29% prior year) say directors are dedicating sufficient time. The survey highlights a persistent executive-director disconnect on priorities. Direct evidence base for SEA mid-market boards calibrating against US C-suite expectations.
