Can AI Boards Outperform Human Ones?
Harvard Business Review (Nov 5, 2025) reports on a joint Wharton Mack Institute and INSEAD Center for Corporate Governance experiment in which a multi-agent AI "board" deliberated the same business case as human boards. Evaluators scored performance against eight governance criteria; the AI board significantly outperformed human groups on decision quality and use of evidence. The piece also cites a 500-global-CEO poll in which 94% said AI could offer better counsel than at least one of their current directors, and notes Kazakhstan's national wealth fund appointing the "SKAI" AI as a voting director in October 2025. Forces SEA boards to confront whether part-time directors can keep up.
