MAS Announces Corporate Governance Advisory Committee to Review Code of Corporate Governance

Monetary Authority of Singapore (May 29, 2025) media release announces the Corporate Governance Advisory Committee will undertake a review of the Code of Corporate Governance, complementing the Equities Market Review Group. The work is divided into two sub-committees: the first, led by Mr Robert Yap (Executive Chairman of Swan & Maclaren Group), considers measures to facilitate more meaningful implementation of the CG Code — additional guidance and practical examples calibrated to company size and industry. The second, led by Ms Stefanie Yuen-Thio (Joint Managing Partner of TSMP Law Corporation), considers new CG Code provisions on corporate culture, board effectiveness and risk management in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence. Industry practitioners with priority-area expertise have been invited onto the Sub-Committees. Direct relevance for SGX-listed and SEA-headquartered boards.
