Strategic AI governance roadmap

Deloitte Global "Strategic AI Governance Roadmap" for boards (2025) sets out a framework spanning six key areas — strategy, risk, governance, performance, talent, culture and integrity — designed to help boards understand their role amid a rapidly shifting AI landscape and equip them with guiding questions for effective oversight. Supporting research: the Deloitte Global Boardroom Program surveyed 695 board members (84%) and C-suite executives (16%) across 56 countries from January to February 2025. Nearly a third of respondents (31%) say AI is not on the board agenda — down from 45% in the previous survey. Robust AI governance is linked to brand equity, lower remediation cost, better decisions and ethical use. Direct relevance for SEA mid-market boards still treating AI as a CIO topic.
